Stillness is not the point

Attention is the point. Any repetitive activity can hold it, and for many women a moving practice feels safer than a still one.

Everyday doorways

  • Washing up, warm water, weight of each dish
  • Walking, counting four steps per inhale
  • Feeding your baby, the sound of swallowing
  • Showering, temperature and skin, nothing else

When your mind wanders

It will, dozens of times. Noticing that you wandered is the practice succeeding, not failing.

Plant this thought

Stillness is not the only door to peace. Sometimes it opens while you move.
