Journaling Through the Two Week Wait

Fourteen days can feel longer than a season. Writing gives the waiting somewhere to go.

Why writing helps in the wait

Symptom spotting turns the body into a puzzle you cannot solve. Writing moves the loop out of your head and onto a page where it takes up less room.

A prompt for each stage

  • Days one to four, what do I want this wait to feel like?
  • Days five to eight, what am I afraid to hope for?
  • Days nine to eleven, what do I need from the people around me?
  • Days twelve to fourteen, whatever the result, what will still be true about me?

One rule

Do not reread yesterday's entry looking for evidence. Write forward, not backward.

Plant this thought

Hope and fear can share the same page. Let them both sit down.
