Small is not lesser
The version of self care sold to us is expensive and time hungry. The version that actually keeps women upright is smaller, repeatable, and free.
Seven rituals to borrow
Pick one. Do it today. Do not build a system.
- Drink a full glass of water before your first coffee
- Step outside and let morning light reach your eyes for two minutes
- Lie on the floor with your legs up the wall while the kettle boils
- Write three lines in your journal, no editing allowed
- Put your phone in another room while you eat one meal
- Wash your face with warm water and take the long way about it
- Say one honest sentence out loud about how you actually feel
Protect the five minutes
Attach the ritual to something you already do. After brushing your teeth. Before opening the laptop. Habits survive when they lean on other habits.
Plant this thought
Five honest minutes given to yourself count more than an hour you keep postponing.
